The former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, attended the first quarterly Council meeting of the Historical Society of Nigeria, held on Saturday, 27 January 2024. Lt Gen Buratai, a Fellow of the society, attended the Council meeting as a special guest and made meaningful contributions to the issues discussed during the meeting. The President of HSN, Professor Samuel O. Aghalino FHSN, praised Lieutenant General Buratai for his exemplary service to the nation and his support to the HSN. He challenged other historians who find themselves in higher positions to emulate Lt Gen Buratai’s passion and dedication to the Society.

Lieutenant General Buratai thanked the HSN for the honour to participate in the council meeting, and pledged his continued support and collaboration with the HSN in its activities and programmes. Council Members attended the HSN Council meeting including the past presidents of the society.
